Generating by reduction of pressure; hotwater storage apparatus. - In the process for generating steam described in the parent Specification, the regulation of the circuit of the circulating water is based on the characteristic of the circulating pump employed. The regulation may be effected by altering the velocity of the circulating pump or by throttling. The circulation water may be stored in a vessel 1, Fig. 4. Water is taken from the vessel by the circulating pump 2 and forced through the heating device 3, from which it is passed through the regulating valve 4 and the throttling or spraying device 5 back into the vessel. In normal working water is taken from the top of the vessel through the branch 6. If the steam pressure rises, the branch 6 is closed and water is withdrawn from the bottom of the vessel through a branch 8. In a modification, the storage vessel 1<b>, Fig. 5, is placed between the heating device and the throttling device. A pump 2<a> delivers water into a storage vessel or into the evaporator 1<a>, and a pump 2<b> circulates the water through the heating device 3.
