Abstract
911,701. Electric water heaters. BUCHERGUYER A.G. Feb. 16, 1959 [Feb. 19, 1958; Nov. 28, 1958], No. 5326/59. Class 39 (3). [Also in Groups VI and XXIII] A sterilizer for use in the method of the invention comprises a container 4 with a built-in heating device 16 and a steam-generating chamber 2 closed by a cover 5 and provided with at least one steam exit 10, 11 to which the milk contacting parts of a milking-machine to be sterilized are to be connected and a pipe 23 extending from the exit 8 and terminating intermediately of the cover 5 and the base 3 of the steam generating chamber. In an alternative embodiment of this apparatus as shown in the right-hand side of the Figure a pipe 25 extends on the exit line 9 and has an adjustable extension 26 attached thereto. In another apparatus (Fig. 2, not shown) the two exits are joined by a T-piece extending into the chamber. In another apparatus (Fig. 3, not shown) the steam exits are integral with the tubes 29, 30 bent at right angles and dipping into the water as above. The cover is provided with a water-filling socket 31 connected to a water tap so that cold water may be passed through the sterilizer and thus through the milking machine before the hot water and steam.
