Abstract

230,020. Grade, H. Feb. 28, 1924, [Convention date]. Ball and roller bearings, for the big ends of connecting rods. The halves of an axially divided spacing-cage 5 are secured together by one piece rings 9 screwed on the cage ends. The cage is recessed at 12 so that its ends only contact with the crank pin 2 so as to guide the cage radially and laterally. The big end of the connecting rod is guided laterally by the rings 9. In a modification one end of the cage 5, Fig. 4, is absent, the big end 4 and the balls or rollers 7 being guided at that end by the crank web 1<a> and the cage halves are held together by a single ring 9.
