229,875. Goldstone, W., and Singer, E. L. March 20, 1924. Pockets.-To prevent theft or accidental loss of the contents, the entrance to a pocket is made between the two layers 3 and 7 of a welt or flap which is made substantially of a flat tubular form. The two layers are attached respectively to the two opposite edges of the mouth of the pocket so that when the flap is turned upwardly the passageway therein forms a continuation of the pocket. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, one layer 11 of the welt is continued as a flap which can be fastened by press stud or other fastening members over the other layer to conceal the entrance between the layers. A slit 19 may open into the interior of the garment to permit access to an interior pocket.
