Abstract

902,824. Garment pockets. O'DONNELL, W. J. Jan. 29, 1959, No. 3247/59. Class 141. A garment pocket comprises four superposed layers formed from a single folded blank and stitched together along their bottom and side edges to form three pockets 17-19, Fig. 6. The upper edges 25 of the three layers defining the pockets 18, 19 are stitched simultaneously to the garment or to a separate strip 32 for attachment to the garment, the top edge 26 of the remaining layer being stitched to the garment material 33 along a line spaced below or substantially in alignment with the stitching securing these three layers. The opening 24 affords normal access to the outer pocket 17 and access to the intermediate pocket 18 through the sliding clasp fastener 10, while the inner pocket 19 is accessible only from the interior of the garment through a sliding clasp fastener 11. The invention is applicable to trousers, sports jackets, lined or unlined coats, work garments, &c.
