Cylinders, cooling. - The valves are cooled by the circulating water which is delivered from the pump through conduits 9, to jets 7 which play on the valve guides 6 and on a pocket 10. The exhaust passage 4 has recesses 5 surrounding the guides &c. The cooling water flows from the valve casings, through the cylinder head and jacket to the cooler.
