Abstract

229,555. Josue, E., and Violini, L. June 30, 1924. Composition fuel.- Briquettes or fire-kindlers are made from a combustible mixture consisting of 50 parts by weight of charcoal, 50 parts of pit coal, 20 parts of potassium chlorate, 35 parts of gum arabic and 15 parts of pitch. The charcoal and coal are reduced to powder and mixed with a solution of potassium chlorate and gum arabic and the whole is mixed with the pitch in liquid condition. The resulting paste is dried and reduced to powder which is compressed into briquettes.
