Frequency, changing.-To reduce the high iron losses which occur in transformers employed in producing high-frequency oscillations for radio transmission from a high-frequency alternator when a high ratio of multiplication is effected in a single stage, the multiplication is effected in two stages by the arrangement shown. The first transformer T1 is connected in a circuit comprising an inductance L and condenser C tuned to the frequency of the generator G. A second oscillatory circuit C1, L1 tuned to the frequency of the first multiplication stage, which may be up to 13-fold without introducing serious iron losses, is connected across the transformer T1. The inductance L1 is connected, either directly or through a condenser C2 enabling the circuit to be tuned to the frequency of the first multiplication stage, to a second transformer T2, to which a circuit L2, L3 tuned to the required frequency is connected.
