Abstract

228,995. Preston, L. R., and Tolman, J. A. Nov. 15, 1923. Alloys.-A solder for aluminium and its alloys contains, in addition to tin and zinc, small percentages of aluminium, bismuth, phosphor-tin, stearic acid and silver sand. The solder is composed approximately of 73.2 per cent of tin, 22 per cent of zinc, 1.8 per cent of aluminium, 0.5 per cent of bismuth, and 2.3 per cent of 5 per cent phosphor-tin, and is cast in moulds coated with stearic acid and silver sand.
