Abstract

228,450. Matthews, W. G. Aug. 6, 1924. Lubricating cans. -- A lubricating-can 10 having a flexible bottom 11 has a filling stopper 23 fitted with an air valve 25 and the upper end of a passage 13 running round the inside of the cam is covered by a flap valve 17. The valve 17 is formed from a disc 15 of flexible material and is held in position by the lower end of a spout 18. The bottom end of the pas sage 13 is open and is normally covered by lubricant. By repeated depression and release of the bottom 11 lubricant is forced from the spout 18 air being drawn in through the valve 25.
