Abstract

274,578. Lang, F. R. April 24, 1926. Internal fittings. - A moisture absorbent closure for bottles, jars, &c., comprises a boss 2 forming part of the top of the closure cap 1 and projecting downwardly into a hub 11 formed in a container 4 for absorbent material. The container consists of an upper plate 12, a part of which is formed with a conical depression constituting the hub 11, and a perforate lower plate secured at its outer edge to the upper plate 12 and resting at its inner edge upon an out-turned flange on the hub 11. The hub 11 makes a friction tight fit on the boss 2 which is also conical, and further security is afforded by a spring clip 8 adapted to engage a groove in the boss 2. In a modification, the clip abuts against the outturned end of the hub 11 and pushes the top plate 12 further up the boss 2, the out-turned end of the sleeve being spaced apart from the lower plate to permit of this.
