Abstract

Saponaceous cleansing-compositions are obtained by adding simple fatty acids to aqueous solutions of soap prepared from oxyoleic, oxystearic, ricinoleic, or other hydroxy-fatty acid. Olefines, paraffins, naphthas, or other hydrocarbons may also be added. Fatty acids specified are oleic acid and the acids of oleine, copra oil, or of a mixture. In an example, 30-35 lb. of a solution of soda-castor oil soap and 10-15 lb. of oleic acid or acids of copra oil are mixed, and then 30-35 lb. of pale oil or gas oil are added. The resultant paste is soluble in water without separation of the fatty acid or of the hydrocarbon.
