Thermionic generators and modulating systems. - In wireless transmission systems employing valve oscillators and valve modulators connected according to the constant-current modulation system, a parallel resonant circuit 11, 12 is introduced between the grid inductance and the grid of the valve oscillators 1, 2. The tuning of the circuit 11, 12 is not critical and may differ by a substantial percentage from the oscillation irequency, its function probably being to adjust the phase of the grid potential into correct relation with that of the plate current. When this is effected, a lower value of oscillating grid potential and a smaller value of inductance in the grid circuit may be employed. Increased stability, and damping of parasitic oscillations, are also effected. The modulating-valves 3, 4 have their plates connected through a choke coil to the same source 14 as the oscillators 1, 2. Specification 148,447 is referred to.
