Screw propellers.-A screw propeller or tractor for marine or aerial propulsion has two or more blades of the form of a time helix having an outer circumferential angle with respect to the axis of rotation of practically 45‹. The blades a may be of sheet metal and are each connected to a boss b by an arm b<1> formed by casting or from angle iron. The section of the blades may be rectangular or may be of the nature of a flattened oval. and the tips of the blades which may be cast integrally with the arms may be provided with lateral projections. According to the Provisional Specification each blade may be supported by two or more arms, or the blades may be supported by two or more rings or spiders arranged at intervals along the shaft, and their tips or outer edges may be provided with lateral projections.
