Abstract

Fixed sieves.-In screening apparatus of the type in which the screen is tensioned and vibrated by means of a rotating percussive c a m operating directly on a pin, adjustable tappet or the like attached to the screen, the frame 8 of the screen is supported in a pivotal manner upon the shaft 5 carrying the cam 2 whereby the angle of inclination of the screen can be varied without interfering with the vibrating means. The cam 2 has preferably six points and acts on a tappet element 3, the intensity of vibration being regulated by a screw 19 carried by a cross-bar 20 of the frame and bearing on the element 3. The frame is held in adjusted position by slotted arms 11 and clamping bolts 12. The screen member 1 is connected at its sides to bars 14 supported m hook-shaped brackets on the ends of cross-bars 9 and rotatable to vary the tension of the screen by crank arms 16 and turn-buckles 17, 18. In an alternative arrangement, the tensioning device consists of hook bolts and nuts.
