Abstract
225,652. Tucker, J. S. Sept. 26, 1923. Bases, boxes, and cases.-Where a tumbler switch is mounted on a plate or disc such as the base of a conduit box, the bridge of the tumbler mechanism is carried bv two pillars or similar supports extending from the base, the two fixed contacts being supported and insulated from the base by an insulating support whereby they mav be detached without disturbing the tumbler mechanism. The bridge piece b, Figs. 1 and 2, is secured on hollow pillars d by screws c passing into the base a<2> of the conduit switch box a. The fixed contacts e are carried by an insulating piece f which is secured to the base by a screw f<2>, Fig. 3, passing through a central perforation f<1>. By removal of this screw the contacts e with the insulator f may be removed to facilitate wiring, or the bridge-piece b carrying the tumbler-operated mechanism may be removed independently by removing the screws c. Where the box a is of metal, the screws c serve to earth the tumbler mechanism.
