224,763. Dodge, R. H. Jan. 21, 1.924. Atmospheric gas burners; blowpipe burners, gas supply. - A gas burner comprises a body 8 having a cylindrical and a frusto-conical section 9, 10 respectively, which are separated by a flange 11 on an air nozzle 12 secured in position against a shoulder 16 by a screw-cap 18 bearing on a flange 13 adapted to close the end of the chamber 9. Valvecontrolled gas and air pipes are connected to an opening 22 in the chamber 9 and to the nozzle 12 respectively, the flange 11 being provided with a ring of gas outlets 21. The outlet end 24 of the nozzle 12 is flared. Soft-metal gaskets 14, 15 of rectangular and wedge-shaped cross-section engage an annular groove in the flange 11 and a groove formed by chamfering the rear edge of the body 8 respectively.
