Heels.-A method of fastening heels to the soles of boots and shoes consists in attaching a slide plate a, Fig. 1, to the heel and a clamp plate b, Fig. 4, to the sole d so that after the parts engage the clamp b can be tightened by screws c to hold the plate a and heel. The clamp b has a locking, lip b<2> at the outer end to engage the slide plate and has an extension b<3> to support the sole at the waist. In a modification, a solid heel is slotted to engage the clamp b.
