Abstract

Roller blinds, attaching to rollers. - A paper or cloth blind a is provided with a band b of rubber latex, gum, &c. and is so arranged that a portion of the blind is secured to the blind itself after passing found the roller. In a modification the band b may be placed at a distance from the end. In another modification shown in Fig. 5, the top edge of the blind is provided with tabs which pass through slots f in the blind. In a futher modification the blind is gummed to form a loop and portions of the loop are cut to form tabs gummed on their underside for attachmetnt to the roller. In another form the blind is made with a gummed loop which is wetted before or after the roller is passed through the loop. The loop may be provided with holes for this purpose. The gum &c. may, in addition, be applied to the roller, and the edges of the blind, which may be plain or hemmed, may have a coating of gum &c. to prevent tearing. When rubber latex is used it may be vulcanized after being applied to the blind and the gummed &c. parts may be faced with muslin &c. The blind lath may be secured in a similar manner and a gummed tab provided for the attachment of a tassle. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 13020/13.
