Vehicle-window opening and closing apparatus.-The window is raised from or lowered into the door cavity by inwardly-turned racks f on the sash and pinions e rotated by a chain and a shaft d, which shaft is driven by a crank a and worm gearing b, c. Rattling is prevented by a spring-pressed roller j, Fig. 3, engaging the sash and a spring i on the sash engaging a rib on the guide. At the fence rail, a rubber tube O held in a copper frame engages the inclined flange p of the closed window and makes a weathertight joint. The sash frame has slotted runners l in which engage pins m on the frame.
