Abstract

221,985. Martin, T. Oct. 31, 1923. Trawling-gear.-Bobbins for the ground ropes of trawl nets are made of rubber or of wood or metal provided with rubber tyres. The bobbin A, Fig. 1, is of moulded rubber and provided with a metal bush B through which the ground-rope C is passed. The bush has retaining ribs and flanges. In a modification the rubber A is clamped between discs of metal &c. secured by bolts passing through holes in the rubber. The discs have recesses to receive the bolt heads and nuts, and central holes in which flanged bushes are inserted. The form shown in Fig. 5 comprises two metal &c. discs secured together by bolts f<2>, and provided with central bosses f<4> and with undercut rim recesses to engage a dovetail sectioned rib on a rubber tyre F'.
