Abstract

Traversing-cutter apparatus.-Relates to apparatus for cutting the bevelled edges on cards, of the type in which a loose manually-operated blade is guided by an inclined block with inclined guiding means to co-operate with a dead knife fixed parallel with the surface of the table. According to the invention the dead knife 3 is secured at an angle to the front of the table 1 and the movable blade 4 is guided by a projecting rib 8 attached to the blade engaging an inclined slot 5 in the inclined block 6. This latter bridges the table 1 and contains a clamping block 2 depressed against spring pressure by cams 10 actuated by levers 12 which may be placed on the top or sides or at the rear of the block. Sliding bars 17 flush with the table top and secured in position by a clamp 19, 19<a> carry a guide 18 for use, in cutting narrow cards. The movable blade may be circular and be fitted with a shield.
