Abstract

Dust distributors.-In apparatus for distributing incombustible dust in mines &c., comprising a wheeled vehicle m, a hopper c having an inclined lower surface c<1>, an agitator t in the hopper, and an air-blast producer g adapted at will to be driven from the wheels n or by hand power, mechanism for driving the air-blast producer manually from either side of the vehicle by means of a crank handle comprises a transverse shaft b connected by chain gearing e with a free-wheel sprocket f on the shaft k of the airblast producer, and mounted in bearings on a flat bar h bolted to the hopper supports i. The crank handle a fits on either end of the shaft b, and when not in use is carried in a bracket on the bar h. A clutch is provided for putting the shaft k into gear with the driving-wheels n through chain gearing. Specifications 18605/11, 176,529, and 176,845 are referred to.
