Abstract

Coupling.-For securing a metal cable 4 to the sash and to the weight, screwed studs are employed, each having a diametrically slotted stem m which a nut is adapted to clamp one end of the cable, the arrangement being such that one stud is formed as a projection on a plate 5 attached to the sash 1 and the other stud is adapted to be received in a cavity 19 in the sash weight 18. The stud secured to the plate 5 comprises a stem 8 having a diametrical slot 9, a clamping-nut 10 and washer 11. The other stud is similar, having a stem 12, slot 14 and nut 15.
