Cylindrical journal bearings; oil, removing. - In a double-head grinding-machine in which the work is driven from both ends, work head numbers 19 are formed integrally on a table 10 and have V-shaped aligned surfaces 20 which receive bearing-blocks 21 having partial cylindrical surfaces 23 to receive the work spindles 24. The spindles are held in position by caps 32 secured to the members 19 and each carrying two blocks 31 adjustable by screws 34, or each carrying lour blocks, angularly spaced in pairs at each end of the bearing. Surplus oil supplied to the bearings is thrown off at the ends of the bearings by thrust collars 70 and nuts 71, 72 on the spindles, and is returned to the wells 73 by guards 76, 77.
