Attaching files to covers.-A detachable stud for securing the cover of a file or binder to the base plate of the file, mechanism comprises a stem a having a base c and an elongated head b. The latter preferably tapers upwardly and is narrower in width than the stem a. Projections may be provided on the base plate to prevent movement of the stud after it has been placed in position.
