Description
SPECIFICATION
Counter rotating engine
An engine of 1 or more cylinders where the crankshaft is plit in half allowing for each portion to rotate in opposite directions to each other whist being connected by a series of gears which offer power take off points for ancilliaries such as drive to gear box, overhead camshafts, starter motor, and alternator.

1. An engine of one or more cylinders, where the crankshaft is split in half, allowing each section to rotate in opposite directions whilst being connected by a series of gears which offer power take off points for engine ancilliaries e.g. drive to a gear box, overhead camshafts, starter motor, and alternator.
2. An engine as claimed in claim 1 wherein a series of gears are incorporated to provide any desired speed change, independant of a seperate gearbox.
3. An engine as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 wherein power take off points are provided directly for ancilliaries.

Claims (3)
1. An engine of one or more cylinders, where the crankshaft is split in half, allowing each section to rotate in opposite directions whilst being connected by a series of gears which offer power take off points for engine ancilliaries e.g. drive to a gear box, overhead camshafts, starter motor, and alternator.
2. An engine as claimed in claim 1 wherein a series of gears are incorporated to provide any desired speed change, independant of a seperate gearbox.
3. An engine as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 wherein power take off points are provided directly for ancilliaries.
