Abstract
218,556. Soc. Anon. Appareils et Evaporateurs Kestner. July 25, 1923, [Convention date]. Separate heater and evaporator apparatus.-In evaporators of the Kestner type in which liquid, fed to the base, rises through a nest of vertical steamheated tubes to an upper vapourseparating chamber, the tubes are arranged so as to form distributing-channels in the inlet chamber for the more uniform feed of liquid to the separate tubes. When the liquid is fed through an inlet 7 in the periphery and passes over annular partition 6 distributing channels 11, Fig. 3, are arranged extending inwards. When liquid is fed to the centre, distributing channels are arranged extending from the centre. Radial and connecting channels may be arranged. To obtain uniform passage of steam over the tubes, baffles 8, 9, 10 are arranged in the steam space.
