Abstract

218,298. Taraglio, G. June 26, 1923, [Convention date]. Radius rods.-A spring suspension comprising a bell-crank lever 5, 6 controlled by a spring 9 and pneumatic device 8 is used in conjunction with a pair of rigid rods 16 extending from the axle to the frame in opposite directions, each rod being pivoted to the frame and to an attachment oscillating about an axis at right-angles to the. axle. The rods 16, pivoted and shackled at 17, 21 respectively to the frame 3, are pivoted to a U-shaped fitting 18 pivoted at 20 to the axle 19. In a modification, particularly for the driving axle, the rod's 16 are pivoted to a collar rotatably mounted on the axle, each of the rods being in two portions connected together by a joint permitting limited relative rotation about an axis in the direction of the length of the rod.
