Sliver conductors; gill boxes.-A nipper for spinning-frames, more particularly automatic spinners used in connection with rope-making, comprises an adjustable die - pin A mounted in a disc C, oscillatable against the effect of an adjustable spring H in a lever D, and co-operating with a gripping-surface as described in Specification 4755/13. The movement of the disc is controlled by a stop, and the disc is provided with a groove F to gather the sliver. The lever D is spring-controlled and a trigger L maintains it in operative position; it is turned about its pivot to facilitate threading.
