Abstract

217,384. Hunt, C. April 27, 1923. Hooks, safety and slip.-The hook 10 which engages the ring 12 of a boat-lowering tackle is mounted on a pin 11 carried by the bracket 3, and has an extension 13 to which is hinged the toggle-lever 15 having a nose 16 which normally rests on a shoulder 17 on the bracket 3 and so takes the weight off the pivot pin 11. The fore- and-aft toggle-levers are simultaneously withdrawn from their abutments to release the boat by operating a central control-lever 30 mounted together with a duplex-grooved drum 24 on a bracket 25. Cables 26 - - 29 secured to the drum pass round drums 23 mounted on the brackets and are attached to levers 29 hinged to the lower extremities of the levers.
