Abstract

217,060. Boselli, E. June 25, 1923. Aerials; duplex wireless signalling.-An aerial system which is electrically and geometrically symmetrical about a vertical axis is arranged to function as a frame or closed aerial for reception and as an open aerial for transmission. Fig. 2 shows a receiver R coupled to closed circuit C L<1> L<11> P and frame aerial circuit A - - F. The transmitter T is connected. to the aerial system at the point O such that the transmission currents in the coil ÀP will not affect the receiver R. Fig. 3 shows a coil P, the two halves of which are formed by winding on an insulating coil two wires with parallel convolutions with their ends connected together. In a modified arrangement, Fig. 4, the closed circuit associated with the frame aerial is dispensed with, and the receiver is coupled to the aerial circuit The differential coil D<1>, instead of being connected across the condenser C, may be connected to the ends; of the frames aerial so that the transmission currents do not flow in the primary coils P, P<1>. The aerial system may be a single convolution or two or more convolutions connected in parallel.
