Abstract
216,894. Leith, A. C. May 30, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Name and number plates. -In order to be seen readily in a poor light, a sign comprises a sheet of glass plane on one surface D and roughened on the other surface A, the roughening being irregular or in the form of a series of regular hemispheres, pyramids, or the like. The plate is secured in a frame F with a cover glass E, and' either face A or D may be at the back of the sign and silvered. Opaque letters or other devices are placed between the two glasses (or other devices are placed between the two glasses) or are painted on the. rear of the glass E or on the front of the other sheet. If the plane face D is at the back and silvered, the letters may be traced in the silvering. A coloured celluloid or other sheet may be inserted between the two glasses, or the glass E may be coloured. In a modification, the glass A, D is replaced by a sheet of polished metal with irregular or regular protuberances.
