Abstract
216,726. Parker, Winder, & Achurch, Ltd., and Smith, W. H. July 21, 1923. Fixed sieves. - In screening apparatus of the kind consisting of a rectangular frame in which the screens are detachably mounted and which are held at adjustable inclinations by a hinged strut 13, the opening in the frame is bordered by a ledge formed by angle iron 8 so that the screen 9 can be placed in position laterally. At one side, a plate 10 is provided and together with the ledge forms a channel. The screen is preferably formed of parallel bars 14 held at the required distance apart by rods 15 and ferrules 16, and is secured in the frame by hooked bolts 18 engaging the ferrules and passing through elongated holes in tie-bars 7 reinforcing the frame. The upper edges of the bars 14 are of enlarged section as compared with the lower parts to avoid jamming of the material being screened.
