Spring surfaces; seating-cloths. - A seat or seat back of the kind in which the weight is taken wholly or mainly by spaced outwardly bowed spring strips 1 secured at both ends to frame members 2, is provided with a pressure-distributing unit incorporating a sheet of flexible but inelastic wire gauze 5 or its equivalent. The wire gauze 5 may be anchored to frame members 8, and may be housed between two layers of felt 4. Fig. 5 shows the wire gauze 26 and felt layers 25 forming part of a separate cover which can be stretched over the spring strips 1. Specifications 205,151, 209,160 and 210,373 are referred to.
