Abstract

253,238. Mellano, A. V. March 23, 1925. Spring surfaces. - A pneumatic cushion, seat &c. has a casing formed partly of extensible and partly of inextensible material and internal stays of inextensible material are arranged so as to permit limited distension or deformation when in use. In the form shown in section, inextensible partitions A' extending partly across the cushion are connected to top and bottom covers A of similar material, such as rubber covered fabric, and parts B of extensible material such as sheet rubber are let into one or more of the sides or into the upper or lower cover. In a modification the upper or lower part of the cushion is formed wholly or mainly of extensible material and the sides and partitions of inextensible material.
