Spring surfaces.- In a seat or seat back of the kind comprising outwardly bowed spring slats 1 mounted on a frame 5, auxiliary spring slats 3 are provided on the upper or outer sides of the main slats at an edge of the seat or back to make it fit the curvature of the knee or body or to provide a more elastic edge. Each slat 3 may be secured at one end to the frame 5 and at the other end to a main slat 1. According to the Provisional Specification, the auxiliary slats may extend right across the seat or back, while in the case of a reversible seat, both edges of the seat and both surfaces of the back may carry auxiliary slats. The Provisional Specification also describes a covering for the slats comprising a wire gauge member placed between two layers of felt. Specifications 205,151 and 210,373 are referred to.
