Teeth, artificial. - An interchangeable artificial tooth comprises a porcelain facing 1 with bore 2 and slot 5 and a flat metallic backing plate 7, extending down to the incisal edge of the facing, the said plate having a post 8 connected to it by a web 9, the axis of the post being parallel to the backing plate. The cross-section of the post is a somewhat flattened. circle and uniform in the upper part, but at the lower end the side walls 11 converge and the outer wall 3 is bevelled towards the plate and the post terminates in a flat end 4. The bore may be located relatively far from the lingual side and is preferably about midway between that and the labial face. Specifications 16826/02 and 29056/12 are referred to.
