Teeth, artificial.-A porcelain tooth a is formed with an integral longitudinal undercut tongue b with diverging sides and extending from the root of the tooth to a shoulder d at a distance from the incisal edge c. A metal backing f is formed with a groove to engage the tongue b and is so shaped that, when in place, it is flush with the sides and back of the tooth. The backing is cemented to the tooth and may be provided with pins h for attachment to the plate. The invention may be adapted to bicuspids and molars and may be used for vulcanite, plate, crown, and bridge work. Specifications 12065/98, 22037/99, and 20499/02 are referred to.
