Abstract

215,272. Hawken, G. A. Nov. 12, 1923. Gates.-A self-closing gate or the like is provided with a number of rubber or other vertical rollers 2 that project beyond the plane of the gate and that are adapted to be struck by an approaching vehicle so that the gate may thereby be opened. The gate may be held open by hooks 11 and may be kept lightly closed by means of spring-pressed balls 7 housed in vertical sockets 6 in the central gate members and engaging recesses 9 in a ground post 10.
