Abstract

215,152. Collet, F. J. March 15, 1023. Callapsable boats.-The boat comprises a flexible canvas skin 1 on opposite sides of which are secured longitudinal members 8, 9 in aligned pairs the uppermost members constituting gunwales and the lowermost members a keel 12. The other components comprise the stem 13, stern 14, and one or more thwartship members 15. The stem and stern members are secured to the skin by hooks 16, 17, Fig. 7, engaging eyes 18, and 19, and the keel 20 engage in perforated plates 21 carried by the keel 12. The thwartship member 15 engages the gunwale :.1 by means of a hook 22, Fig. 5, taking into the eye 23 and the other gunwale is engaged by a lever 24 pivoted to the thwartship member and having a hook 25 taking into an eye 26.
