Abstract

Powder distributors.In hand operated powder distributors, an inverted powder container 21 is carrier by a cup element 17 detachably and slidably supported within an outer casing member 12 so that when the cup element is moved longitudinally within the casing, as by applying the palm of the hand, the powder container will' be caused to contact with an abutment 14 producing a percussion effect to cause a discharge of powder. The device may be carried by a bracket 7 provided with a saucer like receptacle' 8 and adapted to be fixed to a stationary support or suitably weighted to stand on a support. The outer casing member 12 is carried within a collar 10 formed integrally with the bracket 7. and is of inverted cylinder form open at the lower end and formed with an inwardly extending protuberance 14 in its upper closed end 13. The cup element 17 is formed with a concave base 18 with a central opening for the container cap 22, and near its upper open end is provided with a head or projection 20 adapted to engage an L-shaped groove or channel 15 terminating in a downwardly turned closed end 16 formed within the outer casing member 12. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 6, the cup element 17 is retained within the outer casing by engagement of the edge 26 of a cut away portion of the cup element with the beaded edge 24 of a spring- strip 23 stamped from the casing wall.
