Abstract

213,554. Hyden, T. G. O., and Carlsson, E. V. March 28, 1923, [Convention date]. Moulding pipes &c. -Relates to the manufacture of bodies of extended shape from plastic material, e.g. concrete pipes, poles &c. and consists in effecting the filling of the mould and distribution and compression of the material by a rotary core arranged within a horizontal mould furnished with a longitudinal filling opening. As shown, a horizontal mould 3 supported by flanges 4 is provided with a longitudinal opening or openings 8 through which concrete &c. is introduced. and is distributed within the mould by a core 1 which is rotated by a pulley &c. 6. After filling, the excess material is removed from the opening 8 which is closed by a cover, the mould being then rotated through an angle to smooth the surface of the article. The mould may be formed in sections. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the mould may be disposed other than horizontally; also that either the core, or mould or both may be rotated, the material being distributed by relative rotary movement. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
