Abstract

269,365. Porter, W. A., and Scanlan, W. V. June 28, 1926. Centrifugal machines; moulding pipes. - Cement, concrete, or like hollow bends for pipe constructions are formed in two-part moulds 1 having hollow spaces to form moulds and provided with cover plates 6 which carry the cores 12. The moulds are assembled on rods 11 and are then inserted in a rotor 14 which is rotated rapidly while concrete or the like is fed into a central aperture 2 whence it is whirled by centrifugal action into the moulds. The cores are formed of detachable sections 12, 13.
