Abstract

212,995. Viz, E., and Meinhardt, M. Dec. 21, 1922. Addition to 198,722. Generating currents by thermally-produced changes of permeability of magnetic circuit.-The soft-iron screens between the magnet poles of the apparatus described in the parent Specification are provided with excitation windings, which impart to those portions of the screens lying opposite the pole ends the same polarity as the magnet poles. The magnetization of the screens during the heating and cooling periods may be effected by soft-iron yokes j, j<1>, Fig. 2, carrying the windings and attached at their poles to the screen portions a, b and a<1>, b<1>.
