Shade-holders.-The bowl-carrying flanged rim c of a tilting-bowl lamp is pivotally mounted upon the horizontal free ends of oppositely directed straight or bent arms d secured to the gas pipe a, or mixing-tube, or secondary mixing-chamber of a burner or to the support of an electric lamp. The bowl may be tilted by means of a flexible connection c<2>, and the rim c is retained upon the arms d by devices such as ornamental knobs h which, in the case of gas lighting, have eyes h<1> to guide the flexiole connection : i of a gas-cock lever l. Adjustable sliding weights k on the rim c balance the bowl upon its pivotal mounting, and a stop piece i on one of the arms d serves to limit the upward movement of the rim on that side of the rod.
