Abstract

211,904. Bates, T. O. Sept. 1, 1922. Making wafer biscuits. - In wafer-making apparatus, the mould plates 1, 1 are carried by hinged frames 3, 4 which allow access of the heated gases to the exterior surfaces of the plates. The frames have channelled side and end members and are each spaced from the corresponding plate by bosses 6, three bosses being provided on each frame. Fig. 1 shows the application to a machine having a series of interconnected plates, the frame 4 carrying brackets 7 provided with track-rollers 8 and with hinge-lugs 9. A link 11 carried by the frame engages a catch 12 on the frame 4. The upper plate is provided with a shallow rim 1<x> and the lower plate 1 is flush, thereby facilitating easy removal of the baked wafers. Reference to the application to the machine described in Specification 205,270 is made in the Provisional Specification.
