Abstract

228,990. Bates, T. O. Nov. 14, 1923. Making wafer biscuits.-The electrically-heated plates for wafer and like baking-apparatus are heated by closely arranged flat elements comprising thin mica or like sheets wound with wire, the elements being secured on the back of the plate, between strips of mica, by members 11, washers 13 and bolts 12. Covers 14 enclose the elements. The invention is described with reference to a machine of the type having an endless chain of hinged plates, the current being taken from stationary rails by brushes carried on the plates, hinged conductors connecting the upper and lower plates. A switch may be provided on each plate.
