Abstract

211,896. Jacobs, A. N. P. Feb. 26, 1923, [Convention date]. Ornamenting.-A process for printing letters or designs on artificial stone consists in impregnating the stone, or the composition of which it is made, with an insoluble compound of a heavy metal such as white lead, red lead, or lead oxide, impregnating the part to be printed with gum, dextrine, glue, &c., and printing the design by a rubber stamp or otherwise in a water or alkaline solution of sulphuretted hydrogen whereby the sulphide of the metal employed in the impregnation is precipitated.
