Labels.-A label is formed of a ductile and soft metal such as zinc, the surface of the sheet metal being roughened by sand blasting, acid, scratch brushing &c., so that the ink or lead of a pencil will be deposited on the label in the act of writing, the writing also being depressed into the label.
